About GIHN
Through the cooperation of Guilford Interfaith
Hospitality Network and volunteers from more than 50 local faith communities, homeless children and their parents receive food & shelter,
compassionate care,
and professional counseling & case
management services
to homeless children
and their families,
up to 28 guests at
a time. The
faith communities
provide all of the
food & shelter
and much of the compassionate
care through their
volunteers. GIHN operates the day centers, provides the
professional counseling & case
management, and coordinates
the network of faith communities and volunteers..
GIHN
officially formed in
October 1997, and the first guests were hosted
in October
1999 at Friendly Avenue
Church of Christ in Greensboro.
The High Point rotation
followed suit in 2001.
