About Guilford Interfaith Hospitality Network...
Who We Are: Guilford Interfaith Hospitality Network (GIHN) is a group of local congregations in Guilford County, North Carolina, working together to provide temporary housing and hospitality to homeless families in our community.
We opened the doors of our first network in Greensboro in October 1999 and have now launched a second network in High Point.

What We Do: Through the participating congregations and our dedicated staff and volunteers, we provide temporary shelter, meals, hospitality and case management for families in need.
How We Operate:

Every evening, up to five families - fathers, mothers, and children from birth to teens - are transported to a local congregation.  Here volunteers will welcome guests, assist in helping to get the families settled in a room, provide dinner and an opportunity to socialize with members of the congregational community.
Families stay overnight at the congregation, eat breakfast, and then are transported to  GIHN's day center.  After a day of working, caring for children, attending classes or searching for housing and employment, families are transported back to the same host congregation.
The process continues for one week.  Each Sunday, the host congregation changes, and guests are brought to their new temporary residence.
Families meet weekly with the Case Manager to work on the goals each has set for themselves - whether it be finding housing, employment, going back to school, securing child care, etc.

Average Stay:

The average length of time each family stays is three to six months; six months is the maximum stay.
